The United We Stand Theater Troupe presents its fall kids' show, "Peony's Disappearing Forest" and "Why the Wott? (Peony's return)" at Voices for Independence, 1107 Payne Avenue, Erie PA.

The play "Twelve Angry Men" has a long history. Written by Reginald Rose -- and inspired by his own experience as a juror -- it was a Studio One TV drama in 1954, a Sidney Lumet-directed film in 1957, a London production in 1964, a William Friedkin-directed TV show in 1997, and a Russian film adaptation in 2007. It came to Broadway in 2004 and is currently on national tour.
Erie's All An Act Productions secured rights to the play for its current excellent mounting of a stage adaptation of the original TV show by Sherman L. Sergel. Despite the play's long history and its presentation of racism in a '50s setting, "12 Angry Men" is no theatrical dinosaur. Audiences remain understandably receptive to its immediacy.

Featuring the work of 30 well known and respected artists from the area. The shelter theme is open to broad interpretation and need not be practical: artists were encouraged to be serious, spirited or playful. A portion of profits from all work sold in the show will be donated to our own Erie area Habitat form Humanity. Year of Health Programming Begins with Examination of “Water, Health and Conflict in the Middle East”
MEADVILLE, Pa. – – Rabbi Michael Cohen, special projects coordinator with the Arava Institute in Israel, will present a free public lecture, titled “Water, Health and Conflict in the Middle East,” at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14 in the Patricia Bush Tippie Alumni Center at Allegheny College. An informal discussion will follow the lecture.
“The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies is one of those rare phenomena in the Middle East: an organization that brings together Arabs and Jews to work together for peace and environmental protection,” said Professor of Environmental Science Eric Pallant, who as a Fulbright Scholar began working with the institute in 2001. Pallant has created and expanded a number of educational and research collaborations with the institute in the years since.

Yarina, an ensemble honored as Ambassadors for Indigenous Ecuadorian Performers by Ecuador’s Department of Culture, will appear as part of the Rhythms of Life Series at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
Yarina performs at noon on Tuesday, September 16, in Bruno’s Café, which is located on the second floor of the college’s Reed Union Building. The performance is free and open to the public; a full menu of lunch items is available for purchase in the café.
Yarina, or “Remembrance” in the Quichua language of the Incas, was founded in 1984 to preserve and share the beauty, courage, and sensuality of traditional Andean music and dance. Extensive travel through Europe and the Americas has resulted in Yarina adding a unique versatility of styles to its shows, incorporating jazz, blues, Latin, and Western classical masterpieces to surprise and delight audiences.
The Rhythms of Life Series is an outreach program of Penn State Behrend’s Office of Educational Equity and Diversity that seeks to inspire an appreciation of all people through vibrant presentation of the arts.

Constitution Day 2008 Celebration at Edinboro University, Tuesday, September 16.
Constitution Day 2008 will feature the nationally recognized PBS Documentary "A More Perfect Union - America Becomes a Nation." This one-hour documentary can be watched completely or in part throughout the day on the big-screen monitor located in the Frank G. Pogue Student Center lobby. It will also be shown in its entirety in Scot Cinema at 2:00 p.m.

Bill Clinton Will Make His First Appearance on the Program Sept. 22
The five co-hosts -- Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar,
Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepard -- will all interview Clinton,
who will be the only guest on the hourlong program.
Clinton's appearance is a part of the show's new "Red, White &
View" campaign, aimed at highlighting interviews and informational
segments that promote civic responsibility in the upcoming presidential
election. The former president will also have a chance to discuss the
Clinton Global Initiative.
The CGI, which was launched in 2005 in an effort to bring global
leaders together to tackle world issues, asks members not only to
